This is my favorite of the IKEA cutting boards. IKEA always cuts corners to reduce prices, but with the Proppmatt, they made those decisions in a way that is easy to remedy at home. Beech is a nice, soft, inexpensive wood that's very easy on your knives, they just didn't sand it very well. Luckily, that's simple to fix with just a piece of 240-grit sandpaper. It also comes quite dry out of the package, so you'll want to rub it down with some mineral oil sooner rather than later.
